reoccurring infection

is there a way to stop reoccurring bv? It’s really embarrassing and the smell is horrible.. I’ve been dealing with this on and off for three years now. I really don’t know what to do anymore. I have been to the doctors so many times and everything they prescribed me works temporarily. I’ll take any advice at this point
