Different genetic screenings?

Question

How did you all decide which screenings to do? I am 10 weeks and will need to figure out which screening to do at my appt in a couple weeks. I would love any feedback on pros and cons! Thanks!

I did all of the testing with my son and everything was fine so with my second I didn’t do anything. Well at our 20 week scan we got the devastating news that our daughter had brain defects that weren’t compatible with life. I had to have a D&E which was extremely traumatic. Had I done the genetic testing we would have had this information sooner and I could have been sparred the trauma of that surgery. Or we could have done something to intervene. In my daughters case, she had a block in her brain that caused her brain matter to degrade. Had I known sooner, we could have placed a shunt in utero and tried to save her. But I found out to late. There was nothing I could do. 
So I am huge advocate for everyone doing genetic testing, the more information you have to prepare for your future, whatever that looks like, the better.

You can also decide to not do any genetic testing. We didn’t with our first and we won’t with this pregnancy. It wouldn’t change our minds if anything were to come back.
