Blood work

So today I was told to go in and do a blood pregnancy test and I took one in the beginning of the week (Tuesday) and it was negative I was on cycle day 38 I think. If I go do the test it would most likely be negative right ? There isn’t a possible way for it to be positive. My period still has not showed up all I’ve been having was weird brown spotting
