If your spouse asked you to not let his mother and one of his siblings to his funeral, would you honor it?

Toxic mother and one of his siblings is toxic as well. Would you honor their request or let them come as to not start a scene?

I wouldn’t invite them or give them details, but if they showed up, I don’t know if I’d say something or not. If I’m grieving and mourning I’m not about to waste time talking to people who don’t care. But if I’m mad enough I probably would tell them to leave.

I'd gave him write it in his will. Then I'll make sure its enforced.

I wouldnt directly tell them. But if they show up tell them to pay their respects and sit back and be quiet. Its not the time for drama. My husbands ex wife showed up at my mother in laws funeral. My mother in law called her a b#*@$ on her death bed. She hated that woman. Didnt want her there. None of the family wanted her there. But for the sake of my stepdaughters we told her she could stay. She wasnt to sit with the family she could sit in the back. And she wasnt to make a scene. (She was the type to throw herself on the casket) we did a picture slide and of course pictures of our wedding was up, her with all of her grandkids including mine and husbands kids. She started to complain no pictures from her wedding was up, no pictures of her anywhere. And my sis in law told her she was no longer family and to be quiet or leave. She shut up.

I too have family drama with my brother.. I do not wish for him to be there if I was to die.. if he can't be there for me in life then what is the difference in my dealth? If ur spouse does die before u.. tell the funeral director and they will abide by his wishes.. they deal with these types of problems all the time.

Depends on their relationship. If they’re gonna cause a big problem and be disrespectful it’s different than a petty grudge.

I’m in this situation but it’s me. I don’t talk to one sister and both parents and I tell my hubby if he lets them in I’ll haunt him. When you decide to cut parents out there is normally a deep reason I would 100% honor it that’s your hubby he should be your person.

My husband wouldn't want his brother or his biological father there. I'm more than happy seeing to it those wishes are respected, God forbid he passes before them.
