Post Partum Belly

Okay so I am 6.5 weeks postpartum and my belly is of course bigger then prior to pregnancy.

I was cleared for exercise yesterday and have reached out to a physical therapist for postpartum specific exercises. I have a 1 finger separation in my abs and of course want to work on this. Plus my pelvic floor. Not just for the look but to regain strength.

For those of you who have had children before. How long did it take for your waist to get back to normal or mostly normal. Did you do special exercises, or wear any sort of belly bands?

If you had physical therapy, what are some things to ask or look out for (cause if I am paying for it I want it to be productive)
