Gripe water taste

I used to nanny for a family that used gripe water for their sons hiccups. He loved the taste and I never had a problem giving him it. My 1mo old son however doesn’t like it. He spits it out instantly! I’m using nighttime gripe water. It’s so sticky. In don’t remember it being like that before.

Is there a difference between Day time and night time gripe water?

My son is very gassy with a touch of reflux so nighttime is usually a nightmare for us. What works for you?
