What is considered the “safe zone”?

I will be 12 weeks tomorrow and have seen the baby moving on the scan 2 days ago. What is considered the safe zone or when the miscarriage rate is lower? Is it once you hit 12 weeks or after you complete the 12th week? I see such different responses online and Im wondering when I can finally breathe a little 😅
I know you can technically miscarry at any time but just wondering when the chances get lower.

i also had a mc with the first so i totally get what you mean. when i was finally at 14 weeks, which according my OB is the start of second trimester (I know some other ladies have their OBs say 13 weeks is the start of second trimester so not sure lol), and that’s when I finally relaxed a bit. I think we will never stop worrying but you are very close and I hope you get to start enjoying your pregnancy!! congratulations!

Week 12 I believe the miscarriage percent goes to like 1% or something like that so, it’s significantly lower and that’s why most people opt to wait until the 12 week mark because it is considered the safe zone. (:

My doctor told me there is no such thing as a “safe zone”.... the miscarriage rate goes down after the 13th week but things can still happen unexpectedly. He said he’s seen women go full term with a normal healthy pregnancy and deliver a still born baby. So he said to basically tell people when I was ready because no time is better than the other.
