So my husbands best friend is at our house right now. He is a ex heroin addict. He was sober for like 5 years, but he’s here and obviously back on it. We’re letting him crash here, but how do we approach it tomorrow? We don’t want him here high, and we don’t want him doing heroin at our home. We don’t have kids or anything, otherwise we would kick him out tonight. Do we just straight up ask him if he’s on heroin again?

I wouldn’t tip toe around the issue. Tell him that you know what he’s up to and that he needs to quit it or you giving him the boot. That’s what I would do anyways.

Yes. And you flat out tell him he can't have drugs in your home, he can't stay if he's using, and he can't have anyone over. Don't wait until tomorrow! Set boundaries today.

I wouldnt ask. I would have alternative rehabilitation options but I most certainly wouldnt bring that into my home.

Be direct because you're going to need that directness to set and enforce boundaries with him, whether he recovers or goes on a bender.

Wouldn’t tip toe, tell him if he is using you can help get him into rehab but he can’t use at your house or be there while he is actively using.
