COVID and Kids?

How bad /dangerous /serious is this virus for toddlers and kids ?
How likely it if to get this virus through surfaces ? 
We went to a park .. no one was their ,but my husband open the water hous ( don’t know why he did it! 🤯🤯🤯🤯) and them a few min later he removes a leaf out of my toddlers mouth😳😳🙈🙈🤷‍♀️ he said .. I’m more worried of my baby choking than that virus 😫😫😫

There is very little risk of catching coronavirus from surfaces... especially a leaf...

Research shows that it’s not super common to transmit from surfaces. There was a study done on different types of surfaces and how well they transmit the virus. You can google it to see since we can’t post links in Glow.
But I will say this... My stepdaughter has it currently and it’s very sad to watch. She’s on the mend now, but it’s definitely possible for kids to get it and some of them definitely do show symptoms like adults do. My stepdaughter was exposed by her careless mother and then sent to our house without informing us that SD had been having symptoms. We’ve had to bring her to the hospital once and the rest of the time, we’ve been monitoring her so closely because sometimes she scares us with these symptoms. She had the same mentality that it was more likely that they’d catch lightning before they caught the virus... well, my family is living proof that kids can get it. Here’s a picture of the birthday party we threw for the other stepdaughter. The one on the left is the one with COVID. It’s a sad thing when you have to have a birthday party from such a distance. We were strategically placed around the room so that we didn’t mix air particles. We couldn’t have anyone else there, just me, my 2 year old, the 7 year old birthday girl, the 9 year old COVID patient, and my husband. 😕

Just sharing our story so people know from a real person,  or some people on the media, what it’s like when a kid gets it.

Children are less likely to develop severe symptoms than adults, particularly the elderly. There are rare cases where children get very sick or develop MIS-C, and some have died. The bigger risk with children being exposed is that they act as carriers and infect parents/grandparents/teachers/etc who may be more vulnerable. But statistically your husband is right - a toddler is a lot more likely to die from chocking or another accident than COVID. You should still take precautions, of course. And transmission from surfaces does not seem to be a big issue.
