Gerber puffs for 5 month old?

Okay so my son is 5 months and a very fast learner, he has hit EVERY milestone early. He rolls like crazy, sits up perfectly, crawls, eating baby food, pulls himself up and will stand holding on to something, and pretty sure he will be cutting teeth in the next week or so.. I want to introduce something different to him, I feel like these would be okay, but I’m so nervous he’ll choke or something. I know it says 8+ months but let’s be honest all babies are different and go at different paces. 
So my question is has anyone tried this? When did you introduce them to your little one? How did they do?

What happened to fed is best? Y’all are mom shaming her for the type of food she’s feeding her baby. It’s baby food isn’t it? 🙄🙄🙄

I have never and will never feed this to my children. There’s no nutritional benefit to them, filler food. Feed them real food that’s good for their system. Also these go bad VERY quickly after opening and become a choking risk. Just not worth the risk or $$ in my opinion

We do at 6 months. I break them in half. She likes getting to practice her pincer grip and she loves feeding herself. Toast and teething crackers are her all time favorite because she can feed herself.

Does he have the pincer grasp down to pick these up? Does he understand the concept of chewing? I know all kids develop at a different pace but with food I wouldn’t rush things.

I gave these to my daughter around 6 months for something different. She didn’t have any teeth at the time but she loved them. You can always try it and hold off if it doesn’t go well. They buy me some time to make real food and have been a good stepping stone for more solid foods

We didnt start any type of snacks until she was 8 months old. She was still drinking a lot of breastmilk which is where the majority of her nutrition came from and focused on her eating thd necessary foods 3 times a day at meals. Theres no reason a 5 month old should be eating those. Theres a lot of recipies for healthy snack type food you xan make if you're wanting some variety but at 5 months you should still be working on exposing them to new real foods, not that.

We fed these to baby at 6 months. To those saying that these have no value...they may have no nutritional value, but if you start your baby on purées these give them an opportunity to practice their pincer grasp. 
I was scared when I first gave them to him because I was worried they wouldn’t dissolve quickly enough should he try to swallow, but he’s never even gagged on them.
