Postponed Wedding..

Tory

My fiancé and I have been engaged since December 27, 2018. The original plan was to get married April 11, 2020, but we couldn’t afford the wedding due to some unexpected life expenses. We pushed the wedding to April 10, 2021. We recently decided to postpone because a lot of my family is not comfortable with being surrounded by others during a pandemic. The current date is now set for April 9, 2022.. but I don’t think I want to wait another 2 years..

Has anyone ever decided enough is enough and just eloped? I really want my close family there and I know he wants his there as well.. but I’ve always wanted a lot of people at my wedding and a large reception. Would it be weird to still have a reception in 2022 if we eloped this year?
