Do I wake up?

Question

Do you guys wake your kid up from a nap if they sleep for a long time?  My son has been asleep since 12:40pm-ish and it’s now 3:45p. I don’t want him to be up all night because he didn’t eat enough during the day. Idn my daughter was colicky and never slept so I’m not used to a sleeping baby 🤷🏻‍♀️

So if you look into TakingCaraBabies on Instagram, she’s a sleep GENIUS, and she says always wake a baby after 2 hours during the day. It helps them get them get more feeds in during the day and helps consolidate sleep at night :)

Noooooo, never wake up a sleeping baby !!! Advice from my mum who’s had 7, my sister who’s had 5 SIL who’s had 3 and my brother who’s had 3. If they want to sleep, let them 🤷‍♀️
My baby girl ( who’s got reflux) had a 3 hour nap yesterday afternoon after a shower with me, she had two bottles (last night time bottle was at 9:30pm) then slept through until 6am
If babies are hungry after their long naps, they will let you know, like my baby girl, in the morning she will have two bottles to catch up within in an hour

Yuppp I don’t ever let them sleep for longer than 2 hours during the day, tcb advice like others said, you don’t want baby missing a feed and reverse cycling to feed at night

Haha, hell no. Not even if my house was on fire! But my kids do NOT do well with being over-tired until they're over a year old. And with mine I had to choose between them being up and happy because they slept all day OR them being up screaming all night and only sleeping like 5 minutes at a time because they were over-tired. Hell hath no fury like an over tired infant! 
But I know that a lot of babies do just fine being woken up/kept awake until bed time. I guess you won't know which one yours is going to be.

I have an 8wk old and she naps during the day usually a long stretch in the morning 1-3 hrs and I let her. She usually will wake on her own at 2hr40mins or at 3 hrs and I don’t wake her up. She sleeps so much better when she has good naps during the day in my opinion. If baby has a long nap in the late afternoon then yes baby may be up an hour longer than usually bed time is what happens to me... and 1 hr bedtime difference isn’t all that difficult for me right  now since her normal bedtime is around 6-6:30 so if she is up she’ll usually go to bed around 7:30 instead.

I never let my baby sleep more than 2 hours during the day. Especially when it gets closer to his bed time.

Yes .. wake them up! I agree .. check out taking Cara babies . You want to take more calories during the day , that way when they sleep during the night so that then ,they are ok to do a long stretch.
