Starting baby food?

Question

Pediatrician said we can start whenever, she said maybe 2-4 weeks but we don’t need permission from her when to officially start. When did you start? Exactly 4 months or 6 months? I’m so excited for this stage 🙂

We had our 4 month check up yesterday and was told we shouldn’t until LO is about 5-6 months. I was a little bummed because she always seemed hungry & thought oatmeal would help with acid reflux 😩. We were told it could cause more gas pain & constipation. My other two kiddos were both between 5-6 months as well!

My little guy just started eating baby food yesterday. He turned 4 months yesterday. He’s so happy about eating baby oatmeal he’s doing a really good job at it.

We’ll wait until about 7 months or so like we did with big sister. Pedi gave us the go ahead at big sisters 4 month for fruits/veggies etc but we just decided to wait until 6 months which ended up being 7 months. Our pedi wasn’t too worried since she was still gaining weight and food before one is just for fun really.

Started at 4 months. So far she's had Banana, carrots, peaches, green beans and just tonight applesauce. She's loved everything so far. Next is squash!

We started a week after our 4 month apt at the begining of this month. We started w oatmeal which he didn't care for, this week he did bananas and really enjoyed it ! For this upcoming week im doing sweet potato or carrots! Id like to go veggie fruit veggie fruit

I think it all dependent on your baby! I tried oatmeal with my son (just turned 4 months today) and he LOVED it😂 he was giggling and opening his mouth before I even got the spoon to it! It’s totally up to you and your baby, if you feel you wanna try it I think it’s worth a shot, worst that happen is it doesn’t work out and you wait and try later😁 parenting is a guessing game😂😂

We tried at 4.5 months but he didn’t like anything and wouldn’t eat, he spit out everything so after a week of trying we’re taking a break and will try again in a few weeks, I think he might not be ready yet and that’s ok!

With my first, we started at 5 months, but she didn't care and wasn't interested. So I waited until 6 months, and she still wasn't... Haha. Over the next few months I tried here and there. It ended up being because she didn't like purees or being spoon fed. So at 9 months and on, we did baby led weaning and she did fine with that, just eating what we were eating (we just broke it up to not be a choking hazard and waited a few days before introducing something new). With this baby, I'm gonna wait until she's 6 months. She was born prematurely, so I was advised by her pediatrician to wait until then, or until I see that she's wanting to eat like 35 oz a day (I bottle feed) or something like that.
