To colour or not to colour ?? - first trimester

Hi ladies!! Hoping to get some help.
This week I found out I was pregnant (yay!!!) we are over the moon excited. I have a prebooked hair apt for next Saturday to do my usual highlights and colour. Is it safe to get colour done at this stage or should I cancel?

I played it on the safe side and didn’t. Too many chemicals even just breathing in for my liking. I think the main thing though was they say the hormones may make the color act different. Talk to your stylist though.

Ite probably fine but I decided not to esp in first tri. If u do tell them not to do down to the root for less exposure. To be safe I'd wait til after first tri.

Last summer I dyed my hair with box color (which I usually do- I’m pretty frugal) and it BURNED like no other on my scalp.. it was so unbearable, I had to hop in the shower immediately. Found out two days later I was pregnant. Keep in mind that if you do end up keeping your appointment, your body may react differently to the chemicals as well- because of the hormone change! I’d say skip it 😉 Congrats on your pregnancy! 🙌🥰

I waited till the end of my second trimester!! I’d wait till Atleast out of the first trimester to stay on the safe side

I’ve done my hair color & bleached it while pregnant it’s not harmful to the baby but however the color of the hair dye might not come out to what you expected for me I had to play around with it a bit but the hair color faded quickly!

I box dyed my hair as per usual at around 5 or 6 weeks. My OB didn’t think it was a problem.
