Breech baby: ECV or c section?

I’m 37 weeks and my baby is breech. My doctor recommended an ECV to attempt to turn the baby but also scheduled my c section in case I don’t want to go that route. The ECV has a 50/50 success rate. I can’t decide what is best for me or the baby. I don’t have a preference on if the birth is vaginal or a c section. I just want the safest option for the baby, ugh! Is anyone else going through this decision or has in the past?? What did you do?

I’d it’s safe for you and baby, I’d  choose the ECV before I agreed to such a major surgery. The recovery is mush easier with vaginal and you are able to take care of the baby better after birth.

My baby is breech as well and my doctor gave me the same options. She’s going to check his position at my 37 week appointment in less than two weeks and if he’s still breech I believe I’m going to go ahead with a c section. I don’t want to risk anything happening during a ECV so I figured a c section is a safer option in my opinion. Everyone I know who’s had a c section has said it’s not that bad so I’m not really worried about it.

I'm 35 weeks and my baby is breech. From what I understand, for the baby both options come with some risks although uncommon. I think because ECV has 50% chances of success I'd rather go with a C-section, ECV sounds like a lot of stress for the baby. Whenever my midwife examines my stomach she applies some pressure and it's kinda uncomfortable and a bit painful, I can't imagine how ECV hurts.

I had an ECV with my first at 37 weeks, and it was successful! The medicine they gave me made me super shaky, but other than that it didn’t hurt me at all. My first was transverse with his head sort of under my ribs on my right side. I had a successful vaginal birth after that, although I had to be induced. Good look on your decision! It’s definitely not an easy one to make.

I was not given the ECV option thinking it may be too stressful on myself and baby. Baby has been breeched since the very beginning. I have scheduled a c-section for the birth of my baby girl. I go in September 8th.
