Toys that encourage independent playing?

Im looking for something that my lo can use to play by himself. He usually needs me to be by his side when playing and its totally fine but I feel it is getting hard for him to be chill while Im not around even for 10 secs. He is learning to sit with support but still doesnt have the balance. He is 5months tomorrow; he was born at 36w5d so he is a little behind on some milestones.

How does he do with tummy time? You can put him on his tummy with one of these water mats or a mirror and some little toys like rattles and the books that make the crinkle noises.

It won’t really let me pick the actual thing. Haha. We just got my almost 5 month old the lovevery play kits. They’re really great quality! She also likes spoons. Haha

Not sure about this specific toy but I’m a big fan of this brand, any toys that are open ended (generally non light up/musical) are great for developing independent play and imagination. Eventually things like blocks and play food will be perfect because little one gets to decide what and how they are playing, a little young for those yet but hopefully this gives you an idea.
