How many diapers will I actually need??

Question

Did anyone count with a previous child how many you went through in each size?
I’m wondering for the first 6 months or so because I like to stock up when I find sales!😀

I learned to buy the panels as I go because you never know how they will grow honestly. Just buy some 1’s, 2’s and 3’s.

I put a diaper service on my registry so I didnt have to worry about this! Lol. Basically without knowing how big baby will be at birth this early there is no way to plan. But Pampers and such do have good baby weight/age and # of diaper charts.

Every baby is different some skip the newborn diapers and are straight into ones but my kids were in newborns for about 3 weeks no longer then 4 size 2 for about 3 months and 3 all the way into potty training. My babies normally stay fit but I want a chunky baby so bad 🥺

I don't recommend buying that far in advance . We had to swap brands a few times because my son had an allergy and then he was short and stout and then tall and lean. So some fit really poorly and leaked . Plus everyone said I would be out of sizes faster than some and my son was in like newborns ,1's and 4s the longest

My firstborn went through 2,751 diapers in her first year of life. She ended up sizing up earlier than weight recommendations due to chubby thighs. So it’s hard to stock up. Especially as some babies have reactions to certain brands, or others don’t fit their shape right and you have to change

As an example, my son was in newborn a while as he was 7lbs. My sister had a 10lb baby and never even used newborn. I will say that you can always use a bigger diaper but never a smaller one :p

We were in newborn for about 6 weeks, size 1 for maybe 2 months and then size 3 for a while. If you’re looking for first 6 months.

It definitely depends on how big the baby is. My first was 8.12 so good sized. I’m sure this next one will be big too. We did newborn for about 2 weeks then size one until about 8 weeks, then size 2 until about 3 months. Size 3 after that until about 8 months. They are definitely in size 3 the longest! Then she was in 4s from about 8 months until 1.5 years old when we sized up to 5s. She was potty trained at 2. But, I would say we went through about 10 diapers a day until she was a month old, so you probably want a good amount of newborn sized and maybe size 1.

About 8 diapers a day-- sometimes more. I've bought a pack of diapers a week of various brands and sizes (sizes 1, 2, & 3). I taped a gift receipt to every package so i can take any back if i need to.
Didn't buy any newborn diapers. Figured that if i need that, then i can send hubby to the store.

I have 4 kids and every babys growth has been different so its hard to tell. I can say right now dont overload on the newborn size.
