Do birth control pills control your period ? Like I’m not on my period now but if I start taking the birth control pills while I’m still off my cycle will I end up coming on ?? Or will I just spot like how does birth control work as far as periods

Answer

You should take the first birth control pill on the Sunday immediately after your period starts (or whichever day the directions say or your doctor tells you). Generally, you’ll take 3 weeks if ‘active’ pills and then one week of placebo pills. During the placebo week you should get your period again. Some birth control pills have “active” pills that are meant to be taken for 3 months solid and then a week of placebo pills so that you only have 4 periods a year. It depends on the brand.
