How do I know if my baby has acid reflux? What are the signs

So I am now on my third child with GERD. 😩😔 basically your baby will be really uncomfortable after spitting up, arching back, crying, writhing. It can be during or shortly after feeding. Also mine have all had a lot of spitting up, like 6/7 times a feed. I was told anything under 1 tbsp of spit up is normal. Ours are way more than that, like soaking a burp rag.

My baby was really fussy after feeds and She would throw her head back and stiffen her legs straight out. She was also having seizure like activity which they said was just due to reflux. She would spit up but not a lot and it would be thick sometimes but the spit up is different with different babies as some like my friend's baby would projectile spit up with her reflux so that just depends. So that along with diarrhea and stuff got her a direct admit and they did the swallowing test to test for acid reflux and it showed where she was having issues. So the best thing to do is maybe ask the pediatrician to get your baby tested. Cause some spit up is normal. My baby has more of the "silent" reflux. They put her on reflux medicine once a day and please please stay away from  really spicy foods if you breast feed. I had to change my diet a little and I noticed spicy foods was a big no no. Hope this helps a little. If you formula feed ask to change baby's formula. I know there's a formula called spit up by similac they said supposed to work well with babies with bad reflux and spit up cause it's thicker and easier to keep down. Good luck mama!!😊

If I recall correctly it's when your baby has regular spit up and is clearly unhappy about it.
A baby not bothered is a "happy spitter". The acid is uncomfortable/painful so acid reflux is not what a happy spitter has.
But I have no experience with it!
