Haunted house? I’m agnostic

Question

I’m agnostic and not really sure I believe in the afterlife/spiritual things/ghosts etc. Videos, and stories are hard me to believe if I didn’t see it for myself and I always try to find an explanation for everything. My brother recently had someone approach him about his house and told him there was a spirit there... now it peaked my interest because I recently moved into a home with questionable experiences, and I wish I could find someone to walk in my home and give me proof, ya know? 
What are yours thought on this stuff below? 
Moved in February 2020 in a remodeled home built in 1950’s and it’s owned by the city on city property outside of town, NO neighbors(long story). Since moving in there have been some weird noises but because the house is old, I blame it on “old house noises”. 
•Sometimes between 4am-6pm I hear a very loud boom from under the house. I have no clue wtf it is, old heater/ac/pipes? no clue. 
••My first week here, I’m laying in bed part awake and around 4am, I swear I heard the computer chair rolling across the wood floor in the guest room/office(animals in the attic maybe🧐). 
•••My mother in-law visited and said she thought she heard a picture fall and slide down the wall in the guest room(office) and heard the glass shatter. We never found anything(she is old/hearing things?🧐)
••••A month ago I was in the kitchen and had a metal measuring spoon on the counter. About two inches away was this large bottle of garlic. I grabbed the garlic and put it in the fridge and then went to the sink to wash a dish(while talking in the phone) and suddenly I heard the metal spoon rattling on the counter I looked and it was still shaking as if something just hit it. (I could of swore I didn’t the spoon with the garlic but maybe I didn’t notice the rattling right maybe I did hit it🧐?) I keep second guessing myself. 
•••••Tonight my 1yr old son woke up screaming(it happens on occasion), I went to his room and his toy drums were buzzing loudly(batteries dying) and he was cold. So grabbed my son to come sleep in my bed and as I was closing the door to his room I heard my dog outside barking(11:30pm) but my dog is in the house. 😳 I asked my husband if he left the dog out and he said no. My dog is in the guest room sleeping. But I swear I heard my dog’s bark. I know my dogs bark/voice. 
I feel like I could explain/excuse these things... what’s your thoughts?

First, I’ve always been interested in oddities, the occult and weird phenomena. Yes, I was that weird kid in school and am now that weird quirky friend you have. If you live in the area the Mütter Museum in Philly is back open (with safety guidelines of course😷🦠) and has a kid friendly area filled with all kinds of weird and wonderful things. Or check them out online. Their online catalogue is huge and weird!!

Okay now onto your house ٩( ᐛ )و
I would suggest getting in contact with your cities historical society. They would be able to give you the history of the property you live on and the surrounding areas. Like you I also live in a city but  in NJ. I found out that my house was built on top of an old horse shoe foundry and that is why I keep finding rusty old horse shoes in my backyard when we dig. 
Another way to find out if someone passed away in your home or around your property would be to do an Open Public Records request (also known as an OPRA request here in NJ, your state may call it something else) at your police department or municipal clerk’s office. They won’t be able to give you the death report (those aren’t public record) but they can tell you if there was a death, just not the manner of death. **If you want help with that feel free to DM me I am a records clerk and deal with OPRAs all day**  Sadly, not all states in the USA have a “Duty to Disclose” law regarding stigmatized houses and property (suicide/ murder anything that is considered “psychological damage” to a place aka stigmatized). Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania do not have these laws. You can also try DiedinHouse.com, but I don’t know how often that is updated. If you do find out someone past and the seller/ real estate agent didn’t disclose it and you are pissed contact an attorney and find out what your options are. 
Another thing you can do is find out if your house is grounded. For the sake of not making this comment any longer I would suggest googling “How to tell if a house is grounded” and “Benefits of grounding your home”. Weird shit happens when a house is not grounded look it up!
Many cultures around the world, even here in the US, have rituals for “cleaning a house” of spirits, unwanted energies, bad vibes, or whatever you want to call them. You say you and your husband are agnostic so the best one I could recommend would be a “Cleaning Out to Move Forward” custom. It is pretty basic, you literally clean all of your house starting from the basement all the way to the attic working from the back of the house to the front. Then you gather up all the dust, dirt and crap you found and throw it out the front door into the street; just make sure it is off your property . Do not throw it out inside, you want that junk 👏OUT OF YOUR HOUSE👏.  Come back inside and enjoy your family and YOUR new clean house. You can also light a good intention candle; someplace safe away from kids and pets. Any new candle will due you don’t have to buy one on Etsy or anything.

If you aren’t into cleaning an entire house or don’t believe in all this new age candle burning crap, no worries! My husband is the same way. What we do whenever something weird happens in our house is say out loud or in your head something you love about your family and home. It is kinda like power of thought. Do it enough and you will stop noticing weird shit as often.

I totally believe in these things, because I've experienced them myself.
The boom you hear could very well be pipes, we hear them quite often in our house too late at night. And yeah people might be hearing things...
Your son could have night terrors but if he was unnaturally cold that's a sign, and even though his toys might be dying they still don't switch on by themselves.
With regards to your dog barking, again it could happen to be a stray dog with the exact same bark however, simply because I have experienced a dog who was actually outside brush past my legs twice in my dad's old house, I believe that it's possible it could be your dogs energy or something.
It's a good sign though that your dog doesn't bark and panic... We had at least two ghosts in the last house we lived in and we just left them because none of the animals were bothered by them. Get a cat if you want to be extra sure though.

I’m intrigued with ghosts and had two personal experiences that made me a believer. I was always the one that didn’t believe in it, that there were explanations but after my experiences I’m open to it. The first time was when I was babysitting my nephew alone. I was warned the house was haunted and it was very old but I shrugged it off. I’d always get a dark unsettling heavy feeling though when I’d pass a certain room in the house. But the time I babysat my nephew, he was maybe 3 at the time and we were downstairs, he was playing, and knew nothing of the house being haunted. He was at the bottom of the stairs with his ball, pointing and said “aunt Jamie, who is this man on our stairs”. Hair went up my spine and I ran over the check to find nothing there. He just kept pointing. I thought ok, he’s little and I’m still not a believer but my sister in law passed out multiple times at the top of the same stairs. Then another time I was at my in laws house doing schoolwork on their computer. No one was in the house. My father in law had an old multiple CD player and out of nowhere, it turned on, went to a specific cd, and played a specific song and it was blaring. You had to manually turn this on, there was no remote. Hair stood up on the back of my neck and something told me to get out. I like reading others experiences so I figured I’d share mine!

Sounds like old house noises and a different dog. 
Have a meditation or seance thing if you want. I suggest you be prepared though first, keep yourself protected if you wanna play with things you can’t see :)
