When did you realise.....

Question

You didn’t want to be in your relationship anymore/the relationship wasn’t working even though you still loved them?

Answer

I was 24 and had been in a relationship for 3 years with a guy. We had such adventures together, when we were living apart (he was studying at uni 8 hours away so we would talk on the phone and message alot. We would try and see each other once a month).
He dropped out of uni at the end of his second year and moved in with me, which is when things began to go downhill. Our intimacy dropped off a cliff, despite me trying to instigate things multiple times and just feeling worse for the repeated rejections over 8 months. He was not built for the 9-5 working life he had and wanted more out of it, but was too lazy to do anything about it. We had a frank talk about our future and he made it clear marriage and kids wasn't on his agenda, which took me by surprise as he'd never shied away from it before and had talked about us getting married. 
He wasn't happy and neither was I.
It upset me so much to think of us breaking up, that I had to write out my feelings and let him know my head space. He agreed with everything in my letter and I helped him move into a new flat a month later.
Fast forward to now and I'm married to a guy I met when I was 16 in college and we have a 3 week old boy together. Some things are worth waiting for and I am so happy. ❤️

Literally yesterday my bf and I broke up. We have been dating over 2 years and are very much in love. We realized we weren’t on the same page ( as much we wanted to be) and we needed time to develop our sense of self.  We decided to split ways and take time to figure out what we really want as individuals. We still love eachother and see eachother as friends and are able to keep a friendly love between us. If down the line we find ourselves on the same page and unattached we are open to dating again- but for now we have decided to be genuine friends and develop ourselves

I knew when we basickly went to live different lifes, we did love each other, but we knew its just not working for us. We “grew up” differently even tho living together and spending some time just two of us.
