Is this normal for a grown man?

So please don’t come for me for writing this... but I’m wondering if it’s just me being hormonal or maybe I’m just a bitch I guess 🙃
My man talks to his mom on the phone every single day, which would be completely and perfectly fine with me except it’s like 3 plus time and usually for at least 30 minutes. Sometimes up to over an hour. 
We’ve been together for 5 years now, we’re not married and we have a 2 year old and a 6 week old baby. Most of the time he’ll start his conversation and then go outside or to another room to be on the phone and not care at all if I need help with the kids. Before you say anything, yes I’m 100% sure he’s talking to his mom. It’s just I feel like at 24 he should be somewhat more independent of her.
He’ll have these long lengthy convos with her about his day or just talk about whatever but never does that with me. I’ve brought it up to him but then he starts getting very defensive and says I have something against his mom. 🙄
After the kids are in bed, I’ll be waiting to chill with him and watch tv together or just finally get some alone time and what do you know... he calls his mom. 🙃

One day his mom won't be around and memories of those conversations will be all he has left. I lost my dad 6 and a half years ago and I wish I would of talked to him more. A lot more. Maybe explain right now you just need him to be more present with you.

Contrary to everyone elses opinions on it I actually would be irked too. 
3 times a day is excessive, no one needs to talk at length over the phone that many times a day for general chit chat, especially when there's a partner or young kids to focus on. 
I wouldn't have a problem with my husband calling his mum everyday at all but if it was multiple times a day and for ages at a time I'd definitely take umberage. 
It's not necessary and the fact that you've broached the subject and he gets all defensive shows he's a tad immature in my opinion. 
Maybe if his mum lives close by you could spend actual time all together and that way eliminate the need for the phonecalls. 
What on earth can anyone have to say after the first phonecall anyway? 
Unless something major happens in the day then surely he can just catch up again the following day🙄🤷🏾‍♀️

Not coming for you, but I’m 31 and I talk to my mom everyday sometimes it is 30mins or more, i tell her about my day and she tells me about her day and if my husband had any issue w it he wouldn’t my husband. My husband also has a great relationship w his mom, when we do somthing to our house he asks my opinion and then he asks his moms opinion, so idk getting our moms involved has never bothered me, it also doesn’t bother me when he talks to her... Soooo idk what to tell ya sis, maybe talk to him and tell him your not mad you just want to spend more time w him.

I sometimes talk to my mom multiple times a day but not for that long. I also don’t stay on the phone with anyone when my husband is home. If he’s home, that’s time for us to talk or play with our son. It’s not time for me to be on the phone constantly. I’ll text people when he’s home and answer a phone call but I won’t stay on a call longer than 5 minutes. 
It sounds like your husband needs to find better times to talk to his mom. I think it’s fine that he talks to her everyday but if it’s taking time away from you and your kids it’s a problem. You and your kids should take priority.

I’m going through the same thing and god forbid you say anything because then you don’t like his mom or his mom claims I’m jealous of their relationship. Like she’ll call him 5 times back to back if he doesn’t answer and the only thing she will ask is “ why does her AC stop working when she hits the beaks “ or “ does her recliner let out” . He’s not a merchanic and you’ve had that same chair for 5 years and I’ve seen you reclined in it . I think she does that because she knows it pisses me off . And she’s is not old . And has her other 30 year old son living there .

If this bothered you so much, why have kids for him? If you knew he was a mommy baby and you didn't like it , you should have called it quits. 
Now yall are well invested in each other and it's a problem.  Do I think it's normal? Yes,  for a tatty baby man. They are out there. Looks like you got you one.

Sounds like they’re best friends. Which is not very common for men, but try asking him if you and he can schedule time every day to chat and catch up, that you want to feel closer. 30 minutes just for the two of you, that it’s very important. If he won’t do it or would rather talk to his mom instead of you I’d say that’s a problem, and he needs to get more independent. But if he can manage both comfortably then I guess it’s fine. You guys could start by reading the love languages book and focus more on your relationship expressions of love.
