Not preschool but kindergarten?

😆 Guys I googled it and it is terribly confusing. When do most kids start kindergarten? I was reading on Google amd apparently yoy can keep your kid home until 8 in my state 🤦‍♀️  Is it closer to 5? 😆

Most kids start at 5. We might wait until 6 for our August baby so he’s not the youngest in the grade though.

With kiddo being born in August we can put him in at 5 or hold him back until he is six, our choice here.  He will most definitely be going to kindergarten the school year after he turns 5 as he will be more then ready!

In PA you don't have to start or report school until age 8, but this is mostly handy for homeschoolers, as it just means you don't need to do any kind of evaluation until after they're 8 (though I think if you have one kid who is 8 or over and a younger kid who is "school age" you're supposed to report what you did for the other kid too). But kindergarten for our August kids will most likely start when they're 5, though a coworker of mine whose son's birthday is in August I think didn't start until he was 6. My sister started kindergarten when she was 4 because her birthday is October 1 and the rule was you had to be 5 by September 15 to start and my parents were probably desperate to get her into the free daycare lol so they got her in early. 
We're doing unschooling because I think American schools basically just exist to indoctrinate kids into capitalism and it's bullshit, so I won't be reporting anything to the state until 2025. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s 5 here for us and we will hopefully enroll her then. She is incredibly smart and I believe will be ready that year.

Check your state laws. I have to start my kid in kindergarten when she turns five, and I plan to!
