Cervical cauterization??

I went in today to see my fertility specialist because he was gathering some cervical mucus (long story), and while in there he found I had a cervical ectropion. This explains the bleeding after sex. He asked if I wanted him to go ahead and cauterized the area to stop further bleeding and I told him to go ahead. Well I just looked down there and I was completely shocked!! It looks so frightening and I got nauseous looking at it. Has anyone had this done before? And please tell me it doesn't look this scary for long 😭
