Ivf cost?

Our doctor suggested we do ivf today. We’ve had 5 miscarriages and she said the genetic testing aspect would help with our situation. We are in Illinois and have BCBS PPO. How much did ivf cost you?

Covered except for $25 copay and about $200 in medication but I looked at the insurance statement and if we were paying it out of pocket it would have been around 12k per cycle.

No insurance, we self pay everything. We were quoted $16,000 for IVF. I live in Arizona.

We haven't had IVF yet, but have sat down with the office to go over the schedule and cost and it is going to be about $25k

Hey- I’m in IL as well. Just had our first IUI, if unsuccessful will be doing one more then moving to IVF- we have a consultation for IVF in 3 weeks (just Bc it’s hard to get an appt in a timely fashion with our RE himself). IL has a law insurance allows up to 4 retrieval’s/transfers in your lifetime- there’s some stipulation if your 4th one is successful they may grant an additional one or something of that sort. As for cost- probably dependent upon where you’re at with your deductible and most insurances do not cover the medications.

I’m in Illinois with BCBS PPO. I could do 4 retrieval’s in a year. I had to pay my deductible ($500) and once I hit my out of pocket ($1000) insurance paid the rest. Insurance didn’t cover most of genetic testing, freezing, or biopsy. Not all meds are covered either. I’ve used 2 fertility clinics. The first was pretty shady with charges. I’m still on their fb page and some women have said BCBS is covering some of the freezing now. Not all policies are the same. I’m very fortunate to have the insurance I do. It’s been expensive enough covering the parts that aren’t covered. I’ve spent around $15,000. If I had just gone to my second clinic in the first place I would have saved thousands.
