Need help! Any ideas welcome. Not ready to give up.

Em

I'm so lost... I really need ideas.

At least once a day my baby getts very fussy just a few minutes into feeding. A little bit after letdown. She'll pull away and scream. We'll burp her and bounce her but no matter what she won't take the breast for more than a few seconds. After an hour of trying we give up and give her a bottle.

She’s 10 weeks and we use a nipple shield. She gets one bottle of pumped milk a day (before bed) and we pace feed.

She’s getting fussy after letdown, so I don’t think the problem is fast flow or powerful letdown. When she fusses there’s still plenty of milk if I hand express, so I don’t THINK she’s upset due to slow flow... I've tried clamping my breast to increase the flow and that's been hit or miss.

I think it might be gas? I stop to burp her and usually get one out, but she’s crying at this point so the gas could be from crying... 🤷🏻‍♀️

And she immediately takes a bottle of milk that I got in the haakaa, so I don't think it's that she's tasting something that doesn't sit right with her.

Any suggestions??? I'm so tired of crying, but I don't want to give up on breastfeeding.

I asked my LC and she wants to do another consult, but that's honestly too overwhelming. It would be virtual and my baby doesn't do this every feeding so it wouldn't necessarily even happen during the consult.

Please please help!!!
