Any tips on relieving pain from engorging??

Two different approaches: do you want the volume of milk to continue? (If so pump) or do you want it to level out so it matches what your baby is drinking? (If so, hot showers, cabbage leaves, etc are helpful. Hand express small amounts but pumping would be counter productive as it’ll tell your body you need to make that much, so it will continue)

I've always just stood in the hot shower and let the milk flow out on its own to receive the pressure. Or hand express just a small amout. If you pump out too much you will just end up making more. Its always a bit painful at the beginning but it will even out soon to match babys needs and intake.
