Just curious here. Trying for baby #2, we’d really like a girl which if you do natural family planning would mean BD 1-2 days before ovulation day...  but I also want to give us the best chance at conceiving. Gender doesn’t really matter but we’d really like a girl haha

The day, position, time, frequency, or anything else you can think of, has absolutely zero affect on the gender of your baby and it is completely 100% up to chance. Unless you’re paying a scientist to take a male sperm and directly fertilize your egg with it before inserting it into your body, you cannot guarantee that you will have a boy.

There is never a guarantee but if you want a (very) slightly higher chance of having girl you are supposed to have sex further before your ovulation day because the sperm carrying the female DNA is slower but survive longer. There are so many factors at play when determining gender, for example, taking into account the male's genetics, some men predominantly carry more male or female sperm instead of it being more balanced. The women's body plays a role as well depending on the vaginal environment at the time the sperm enter.
