Supporting a friend's business

My friend owns her own food business( she cooks and sales her dishes) she has been in business for about a yr and I buy plates from her sometimes,not often. She asked if I would support her business and purchase a plate of food. On this particular day I had just spent $300 at the grocery store. I had advised her not today because I had just went grocery shopping and didn't want to spend more money. Her response to this was " I take that you don't support my business since you do not want to purchase a plate". Since then she has stopped speaking to me. I personally feel I support her fully and just because I don't purchase from her all the time does not mean I do not support her business. My question is if you choose to not purchase from your friends business alllll the time for whatever reason does that mean you do not support them?
