Hard but worth it.. My birth story

Angel

On my due date 6/10/20, I had my 40 week appointment. I wasn’t making much progress dilating and was at a 2 for almost a month. My obgyn checked me and did a membrane sweep which hurt like HELL. She told me she wanted to induce me the next day on 6/11/20 and to be at the hospital at 6am. So on 6/11 me and my boyfriend got the last of our stuff packed and headed there. I had been contracting all night but they never got less than 15 min apart. When I got there they hooked me up to everything and started the pitocin. I said no to the epidural and started contracting about an hour after they started the pitocin. My obgyn inserted the foley balloon and after that things went from 0-100. My contractions got intense and close together but weren’t showing up on the screen so the nurses kept telling me I wasn’t contracting, around 2 pm I kept telling them I was contracting constantly and they moved the monitors on my stomach and were shocked because I really was having back to back contractions. The nurses checked me and The foley balloon was able to come out and I was dilated to about a 6. At that point I was considering an epidural or pain meds bc it was excruciating but my nurse kept hyping me up saying I was almost there and I could do it naturally. About an hour or so later the obgyn came in to check me and I was at an 8 but the babies head wasn’t coming down the birth canal she was a little side ways. At this point I had to get a csection. The anesthesiologist came in and gave me my epidural it didn’t hurt at all. A few min later my whole body went numb from my face to my toes. He said it must have been a little in the wrong spot , I was freaking out bc I felt like I couldn’t breathe and started getting sick. He pumped me with nausea medicine and was super sweet and understanding the whole time. About half an hour later it was time to get prepped for my Csection. They gave bf his scrubs and took me to the operating room. I remember the anesthesiologists rubbing my one arm and my bf holding my hand and me just needing to throw up. The nurses kept having me smell alcohol pads and pumping me with more nausea medicine . The next thing I know I heard the doctor say here she comes and my bf started recording . They took the sheet down to the clear one and they plopped my baby right on my chest in front of me. It took a her a few seconds to breathe bc she was holding her breath and she had a knot in her umbilical cord. But that cry was music to my ears.

Penelope Emma Williams was both 6/11/20 7lbs 10oz and 19 1/4 inches long . Although the pain was excruciating and I ended up having a Csection I would do it over a million times for her . I also have an amazing video of my Csection on here as well ❤️
