Am I already a bad mom?

Question

I’m 18 weeks pregnant and I’m having trouble connecting with my baby. Idk if it’s because I’m not showing or I haven’t found out the gender or something else. Has anyone else felt this way?

It doesn't make you a bad mom. I've never felt connected to any of my babies during pregnancy. But the connection to my first and third was immediate once they were born. Second took even longer because I had PPD.

That's completely normal! You're not a bad mom!
One of the big lies I've grown to hate is that mothers magically have a special, strong bond with their babies. Truth is: not all of us get that right off the bat. And that's ok! It's even normal. I took fantastic care of our son but, truth be told, I didn't feel an emotional connection until he was 4 months old. I wasn't a bad person or a bad mother, I just took more time. And so did every other woman like me. 
You're only 18 weeks pregnant, you have plenty of time to bond with your baby!

Oh hon I felt the same way until i started feeling kicks. Once my belly started popping and I could feel her move I started to bond! It also helps that my husband talks to her and touched her throughout the day cause he’s so so excited :)

I've asked myself that my whole pregnancy i'm 29 weeks and I'm still like.. "oh.. yeah.. im pregnant" like I want her and I love her but im not excited at all! 
I cried to ny husband about it a few times and he explained to be that it js normal. And it may change when i hold her. But it doesn't make me a bad mum

This was definitely me and to an extent still is! It was really hard for me at first too. I’m 29 weeks now and it’s definitely better now that he has made his presence known! It’s still a little hard sometimes though. I think it’s completely normal!! Some women I have talked to said they didn’t feel that strong connection even until the baby was born!

I think it’s too early.  I’m 18 weeks today to and we still can’t feel the heartbeat or movement really.  It’ll come with time!  It really matters once the baby arrives.  Have faith.

I’m 28 weeks and feel the same, except I do feel the movements, but I have had a rough pregnancy thus far with severe anemia and excruciating pelvic girdle pain. I literally hurt so bad every. Day. Every. Step. I try to tell myself it’ll be worth it and I know it will. This pain is temporary but I’m still having trouble connecting because of it. I’m also a first time mom.

I'm 38 weeks and I'm not sure I feel connected to my baby... i have been writing to her to keep her updated on what I've been craving, how I feel physically, how her daddy reacted to me telling him about her and how he reads to her, etc. 
But I feel more connected to my husband than her. I mean all I know about her is that she's super opinionated.. 🤷‍♀️ Maybe when she's born.

It’s okay not to feel connected when during pregnancy. Many woman have a hard time accepting that there is life within them up until the later weeks of pregnancy. Something you might consider is starting to sing to your baby when your alone. If your nursery is finished, you can spend time singing or reading to have they connection. Babies can start hearing sound around 18 weeks, and they start reacting to sound around 24 weeks. This might help you connect with the reality of your pregnancy.

I felt this way when I was pregnant. I tried guided meditation videos I found on YouTube. My son loves that quite time together and kicked when I did it! Worth a shot ☺️✨
