Would you consider this rape?
I was molested by my step dad for years as a child. When I was 16 my first “boyfriend” tried to rape me but he was drunk and I was sober so I was able to fight him off me and run. He ended up abandoning me on the side of the road because of this then for years after would hound my friends to give him information as to where I was and if I wanted to get back with him. The topic of rape and molestation is always touchy with me because of this. I deal with a lot of baggage that has affected myself, my spouse, my kids, etc. for years because of this.
So anyway, a girl I’m friends on Facebook with claimed she was raped. I never acknowledged it but she messaged me one day and tried to talk about it, I had heard through the grape vine what had happened so when she started asking for sympathy I quickly asked that we not have the conversation because I knew I couldn’t be civil about it. Because I said that she wouldn’t stop messaging me the details and trying to get me to say I felt sorry for her.
So this is what happened. She invited men over, two separate occasions yet the same story. When they got there she started the night by saying she didn’t want to have sex that night, she just wanted to hang out. As the night progressed she took them both to her bedroom, made out with them, got naked, got them naked, climbed on top or pulled them on top of her, didn’t stop them when they tried to put it in but the second they did she asked them to stop. They both immediately stopped, pulled it out, and redressed when she asked them to. Then she posted online about how they raped her and tried to destroy their lives. My thing is that she appeared to initiate sex and they respected her wishes when she asked them to stop or when she set boundaries but she said it’s rape because hours prior she said she didn’t want sex that night. Would you consider this rape?
