Port wine stain?

My baby was born with this on his hand. I have an appointment with the dermatologist soon but just been doing research and I couldn’t find much. Anyone know if i should be concerned 😣🥺

It usually isn’t a concern. Sometimes they worry about something called klippel trenaunay syndrome. But that’s usually when the port wine stain covers an entire limb.
They’ll probably talk to you about laser treatment for removal.
He’s lucky tho! At least it’s only small and just on his hand! It’s most commonly on the face and can effect the eyes and mouth.
I have a large portwine stain on my left arm that goes down half my hand and goes up on the front of my chest, my shoulder and some of my shoulder blade. For me personally I wish my parents would have done the laser treatment when I was a baby. But I’ve learned to accept it as part of who I am :)
