Keep in mind that this year there’s a huge unknown about the risk of getting the flu and covid at the same time. They also have similar symptoms, so if you get the flu you might think you have covid. 
We all know that the flu vaccine isn’t perfect, but it known to reduce your risk of getting the flu by about 40% and is also known to reduce the severity of your symptoms. 
Plenty of people will say “I don’t get the shot and never get the flu”, but that’s a one-off example. Scientists are collecting data on a large scale that shows that the shot is beneficial overall. If everyone got it (who could), way fewer people would get the flu and die from the flu. And this year it means more room at hospitals to treat covid patients.

I got the flu shot while pregnant which transferred antibodies to her until she’s old enough for the shot. I’ll be following her doctor’s recommendation to give her the shot once she’s old enough. I believe it’s 6 months but I’ll be checking with him. 
I trust doctors regardless of what other people are doing.
