When to start finger foods

My baby’s about to turn 7 months and I’m so scared of finger foods, he’s really good with purées but I’m terrified of him choking

We started with finger foods.  If you look up baby led weaning, you can find foods that a appropriate and the right size for beginning finger feeding

Start with something very soft like ripe banana or something that dissolves quickly like baby rice rusks or yogurt melts.

You need to start otherwise your baby is at higher risk of being a picky eater which can last into childhood. As long as you give appropriate food (ex not raw carrots) that is cut appropriately (stick shape not round that can block their throat) your baby will be fine. Taking an infant cpr class might help with your concerns as well.
