Not sure if this is a dumb question...If you ovulate late in your cycle compared to your other cycles, do you start your period later too?

Does ovulating late effect when your period starts? I believe I ovulated 8 days later than my old normal. So I'm wondering how my dpo, testing and everything play into it now with my projected period start date being today. Any advice or knowledge appreciated.

Usually luteal phase  (that goes from ovulation to AF) is always the same so if you ovulated late your AF will come late, according with your luteal phase lenght. For example mine is 13 days and in July I ovulated 1 week later and after 13 days I had my AF (one week late than predicted). I knew that so I didn't test, if you cannot detect your late ovulation you could assume you're late but actually you're not (yes, that sucks 😂😂).
