When to switch nipples when bottle feeding?

My baby turned 2 months old on the 9th but my question is when do you switch from newborn nipples to older ones? How Do you know you need to change ? My daughter still seems to do fine with the newborn bottles we been using since I stopped breastfeeding at 5-6wks

I have the Philips avent bottles so the size 1 nipples are for newborns and the size 2 nipples are for like 1-3 months. I transitioned to the size 2 nipples right at 1 month but she still drinks from the size 1 nipples just fine so I use both. 
You can try to size up but if baby starts gulping or gagging those are good signs that they are not ready for the next size up

I actually kept my son on slow flow nipples until he was 1. I never changed them. He was prone to chugging his bottles and getting gas. He was fine with it.

We just switched to a medium flow nipple. I breastfeed mostly but when he had a slow feed nipple on his bottle he was getting frustrated.  I have a forceful letdown so the medium flow is a little more similar to how fast milk comes from my breast. I think they are recommended for 3+ months but he’s doing well as long as he’s sitting up.

We use avent and we switched from size 0 to 1 a week ago. We use size 1 during the day and at night we still use the 0 until hes  used to the faster flow. I saw somewhere if its taking over 30 minutes to finish a bottle you can switch. But if they spit up more or leak from the side of their mouth, you can hold off and continue same size you were using.
