Taking plan b with Nexplanon

I have had the nexplanon in my arm for about 7 months now and my bf refuses to finish Inside of me bc of the fear of me getting pregnant, I keep reassuring him that it’s safe and I won’t get pregnant but now he’s saying he will if I take a plan b. isn’t it a waste of money if I’m already on birth control?
