More babies?

Question

Am I selfish for wanting 1 more baby? We have a beautiful 2 1/2 year old boy who is my world, but I feel like he needs a sibling. My husband doesn’t want another one and my son is super clingy... am I selfish for wanting one???

As myself being an only child, I wouldn't want my daughter to grow up as one, like me. 
You are definitely not being selfish. Think if it as giving him a friend for life!!

No mamma you've got all the right reasons! Pop one out! Nobody wants to be an only child lol iv got a almost 1 year old and an almost 2 year old, if they we'rent so much work I'd pop out a third i already want another but I know I personally couldn't handle that rite now. These are my little ones

I’m having my second way later than I originally planned. I also had my first way sooner than I planned. My son will be 8 years older than his sibling and when we told him he would be a big brother he wasn’t too thrilled but I sat him down and told him it was because I didn’t want him to be alone. He will always have this buddy with him who understands his up bring and have shared experiences. I’m an only child and I never got that. You are not selfish.

Your not selfish, I come from a big family and wile I don’t always get along with my siblings I love them and we need each other. Each of my siblings are wonderful people and I couldn’t imagine life without them❤️. Brothers and sisters alike😁.

I grew up an only child and both my parents were military. Even though I made friends easily. I always felt lonely and always wanted a sibling. 
So I always wanted two kids growing up. Just so they have each other in the world. So your not selfish in my opinion for wanting another baby.

There are definitely people who wish they were an only child! I have one sister and we have had a turbulent relationship from day one. I would have been so much happier growing up if I hadn't had to deal with her. 
People who are only children will almost always say they wished they had a sibling. But the reality isn't always so pretty. You are not depriving your son of anything by deciding you only want one child.

Also a sibling wiuld meen your child would have someone to play with, he'd probably be less clingy, in due time.

No it's not selfish, a sibling/siblings can be a great blessing. Why not try praying that your husbands heart get softened on the matter.
I am sure the reason that as humans, generally and historicly (not always if course) we have a desire to have babies and very often more than one, and sometimes many, is that it's deeply engrained, both in human nature and cultural and theological thinking. A very early command of God was 'go forth and multiply' and Children (particularly when well raised and loved) bring blessings to their families, both parents and siblings as well as wider family and community, both sort term and later in life. Having worked in old people's homes I always thought that those with involved and larger extended family, whether children, nephew and neice etc were very blessed, that's not to say that only children couldn't be goid at visiting too.
