Is this a warning sign?

So me and my boyfriend went on a weekend getaway and why we was there he said he was going to try to stop smoking weed so he didn’t bring any with him. The first day he was fine but the second day everything I said seemed to annoy him and he was snappy at me and miserable and didn’t want to do anything. He also was drinking a lot to apparently stop the craving the 3 days we was there he drank full a bottle of rum and a bottle of vodka every single night. I would talk to him and he would get annoyed telling me do I ever shut the fuck up. We went to a restaurant and I ordered chips/fries but they was really soggy and kept falling off my fork so I decided to eat them with my hands and he kicked me hard under the table and was like you stupid bitch your embarrassing me eating like a pig in front of everyone and the entire holiday just being nasty. When we got back home he disappeared for 3 hours came back stoned af and then went nice again and he has been smoking it since and has remained nice
