Family visiting baby during corona?

Hey ladies
Just throwing a question out there, I know most of us still have a few weeks, but has anyone thought about their family visiting after baby is born? I know most hospitals won't let visitors come but I mean once you go home. Are you allowing people to come by right away? Do they have to wear masks? Are you waiting a few weeks? I'm trying to brainstorm ideas but nothing is really sticking lol. Let me know!

Im going to go against the norm here and say I have no problems with family coming to visit my baby while we’re home. I’ve been visiting with both sides of the family this whole time anyway and we’ve all been healthy and fine. I’ve read that asymptomatic spreading of the virus is actually quite rare from a few different sources so as long as everyone feels healthy and good, I’m fine with them visiting.

We aren’t. No hospital visitors because of rules and regulations and no at home visitors for 4-6 weeks.

Since we’re having a scheduled c-section in December we are quarantining for two weeks before because I want to go in for surgery as healthy as possible. We will only allow my dad to come over and watch our other kid while we are in the hospital. Everyone else can wait till after cold and flu season.

Glad I am not the only one concerned about this already. At the moment I am thinking the only visitors in the first 6 weeks will be my dad and step mom because they are willing and able to completely quarantine for two weeks. After that I am planning on relying on the advice of our pediatrician. Definitely going to ask family members to wear masks around baby when doc gives the ok.

Just the grandparents because they are all retired. The rest of our family maybe a little after (2-3 months) wearing a mask. But we will see at that point. My first got sick at 6 weeks with bronchiolite so we were already going to be very careful. At least now I don’t feel crazy asking them to wear a mask and clean clothes !

As of now, only family that has quarantined 2 weeks will be able to come see baby. This will likely only be grandparents and maybe my sister. I’m going to take advice of pediatrician on at what point I can loosen that but probably after a few weeks to let baby’s immune system build. I will also probably require masks and lots of hand washing.

If it was up to me the only people meeting my son would be whoever lives in the same house as us and my mother and sister. But my boyfriend won’t allow it because he wants his whole family to be able to meet him when he comes home

I’m thinking we’ll let immediate family members (grandparents) visit within the first few days, but everyone else can wait to meet our baby after a month or so-maybe not until spring when the weather breaks. Those who do come to visit will be asked to wash their hands, wear a mask when holding her, and no kisses!

My family is going to be allowed to visit, but my family takes proper precautions. Husbands family, no. But they also would have to travel across the country and thats just not safe. We also get sick a few days after they get here each time and January is still cold and flu season.. nah. My baby isnt gonna get sick her first day of life. Husband is on the same page as me also

I'm going to make the decision closer to the time rather than rock the boat now. Thing I've learned after my wedding being cancelled this year is this virus is so unpredictable. Things change so quickly and I am not making decisions months in advance 😂
