I stopped talking to the guy that I’m seeing.
I only see the guy that I’m dating every few weekends or so. He works evenings at a hospital on weekdays, which is why we only see each other on the weekends.
He has a brand new dodge challenger, while I don’t have a car. He had loads of money, travelled frequently pre-rona, and lives in a beautiful, decked-out studio with thousands of dollars worth of clothes, with shoes worth twice as much, while I share a regular degular house with two other roommates and I’m barely making it working part time to make ends meet.

His shoe collection is worth at least 5 or 6 grand, while I own a couple beat up old basic converse and vans. (He literally begged me to throw my vans away because they were old and raggedy. I was so embarrassed.) I even went with him to a shoe convention and sold 4 pair of his shoes for $1000 and then he ended up asking me if I’d take care of the check that same night for dinner. I choose to visit him at his home because he complained about us not having air conditioning the entire time when I invited him over once. There is also privacy in his home, while mine is semi-private.
He “jokingly” complains about having to drive me home or pick me up sometimes and encourages me to get a car all of the time. It’s only a 15 minute drive.
Sunday night, he picked me up and brought me over. I brought paints, canvases, and easels for us to paint. I cooked, baked brownies, and we had (a terrible, poor excuse for) sex.

Then around midnight, he stretches, yawns, and says “yeah I can’t take you home tonight and I’m about to go to bed soon.......” Without speaking, I ordered my Lyft ride and left five minutes later. I kissed him on the cheek and walked out without speaking. I have yet to speak to him since nor has he reached out to me at all.
I think the primary reason why I had no problem cutting him off instantaneously is because I don’t want to be with a man that can’t even make a 15 minute drive once every few weekends.
