Vegan formula?

Is there such a thing as vegan formula?
My mom was telling me about a couple in their street who were angry at their daycare because they heated up the baby's bottle and didn't give the rest of the milk back. It was special milk because they're vegan..
I didn't know there was such a thing as vegan milk?

There are recipes on the Internet to make your own formula - you would probably find vegan options as well... I wouldn’t try though, I don’t think it is safe. 
Also a baby relies heavily on nutrients provided by breast milk which is copied by formula. I don’t think vegan milk can stem that. Also breast milk is not vegan, so why? 🙄

Yup! Absolutely. Soy formulas are typically a lot more expensive though

I think there is, but I think state policy doesn’t allow the daycares to send the milk back. I know our daycare policy firmly states, any milk/formula not drunk within 1 hour must be thrown out. 
Who wants to give their kid old formula? That’s nasty and could actually hurt the child!

^This company sell Vegan formula (soy free also) but it is only follow on milk from 6+ months. £32 for an 800g tin. Expensive but if baby is only having x3 7oz or x2 8oz servings a day alongside food then I guess it lasts for quite abit.

There are vegan formulas but daycares (and hospitals) legally have to dump milk that’s been given to baby but unfinished after an hour.

No there aren’t. The closest to vegan is one which contains lanolin, which makes it vegetarian. But there are recipes to make your own. 
This is according to the U.K. vegan society which is the oldest vegan society in the world.
