Should your s/o buy you a gift once in a while

So I haven just realised I have been with my boyfriend 2 years and he has never actaully bought me anything other than for like Christmas or something. I know it’s not important and it doesn’t bother me but I always see girls where there boyfriends have bought them something my boyfriend doesn’t even pay for my meals we always go 50/50 or I pay. It would be nice to be appreciated once in a while I’m always buying him stuff
