my boyfriend tested positive for COVID
I only want educated answers please, anyone who is going to be rude or sarcastic please kindly leave.
anyone who decides to stay, has knowledge about COVID and answers - thank you. I have anxiety and this pandemic has been awful for everyone, not only me.
My boyfriend’s roommate tested positive for COVID the 8th of september (10 days ago, the day he started showing symptoms). My boyfriend eventually tested positive the 11th of september. My boyfriends roommate, according the CDC, can come out of isolation now cause it’s been 10 days, no fever, and other symptoms are improving. My boyfriend is still in it and will be able to come out the 23rd of september because he started showing symptoms the 13th (yes - two days after he tested positive). Don’t worry, I got tested and I am negative, been over two weeks since I’ve seen him and have had no symptoms.
I know the CDC says that someone can be around people again 10 days after symptoms began, if there is no fever, and if symptoms are improving. He seems to be handling it well and they all had mild symptoms so that’s really fortunate. Can I see him the 27th? It would be over two weeks after he tested positive- I’m not following the 10 day rule just to be for sure. He is my best friend and I miss him very much. Plus, he has work to get back to. We have lives. Does anyone else have experience with this? I was going to have him get tested again but the CDC says there’s no point because it might pick up on inactive COVID particles that he isn’t spreading any longer and therefore don’t recommend testing. Does anyone know what I should do to see him safely or how to ease my mind? I’m just very grateful he’s not very sick and will get through this. It’s hard being away from someone I care for so much.
