Boys name or a dogs name?

My husband told me this morning that he likes the name Ripley for our little boy. But I cant stop thinking it sounds like a name for a dog more than one for a child. Our other kids are named Henry and Violet so its also way out of left field compared to the names weve already used. Do you think it sounds like a name for a pet?

I wouldn’t say it’s a pet name, but it instantly reminded me of the “Ripley believe it or not” series

I worked at an animal hospital and had a lot of dogs come in with that name. My neighbors weenie dog is named Ripley.

I don’t like it as a first name for anyone. It makes me think of Ripley’s Believe it or Not.
Also I think it’s usually user for girls but I’m not sure. Not that that matters.
