Gripe water? How to lesson choking?

How do you administer grip water? I heard it’s very good for colicky gassy babies. But I’ve also heard a lot of babies choke on it. Can I mix it with formula to reduce choking?

My baby has never choked and I give it straight from the dropper. I just slowly give it to him as he suckles on the droppers. I’m sure if I shot it in there he would choke.

I think gripe water is useless, except for hiccups. My baby also got choked up on it. Mylicon drops are much more effective for gas.

My daughter has has it since 2 weeks old. She’s never choked on it. It says on the bottle not to mix it. You’re supposed to give it separately from feedings, but I know some people don’t. I think it’s to eliminate spit up

My son never choked... we used an extra Tylenol syringe and gave it in tiny sips. He loved it and was great at drinking it from birth

I used a tiny syringe to give to my son, suck up the dose you need and it will show you exactly how much your giving and you can push it out slowly so they can suck it out at their pace.

Just give the dose in small increments and make sure the baby swallow each bit. Of course they're going to choke if you squirter the whole dose in their mouths!

Our kids haven’t choked on it. The new bottle we bought for our daughter has a syringe like Tylenol instead of the dropper that came with the bottle our son had a couple years ago.
