When are you transitioning your baby to a crib in their own room?

My kids are going to share a room. My son is going away with my dad so I'm going to see how she does while they're gone (she'll be 4m).I was going to wait until 7m and sleep train over Christmas break, but he'll be fine for a week and she mostly sleeps through the night anyway. If it doesn't work out when he comes back then we'll keep her in our room another few months.

I did it at after I was done breastfeeding at 6 weeks. He hated the bassinet and hated sleeping with us so we tried the crib and he loved it and worked for us best.

My son sleeps in the guest bedroom since two days or so. In his bigger bassinet and a baby monitor. He’s 16 weeks old. He sleeps really good when he’s alone in a room. Sleeps throughout the night since we put him in a separate room. Monitor is next to me at all times. My daughter has her own room so they can’t share just yet. But maybe when he’s older.

We are keeping ours in our bes until baby number 2 is on the way. So, probably around 1 1/2 years if all goes to plan.

We had the HALO Bassinest in our room and were planning on keeping him in it until about 4 months, but my son is so big that he outgrew it before then. We transitioned him to his crib at 10 weeks.
