I'm making a little coat and shoe area for my 18 mo. old. From your mama experience which is more practical for a toddler?

I'm trying to decide which one is most likely to be used properly, and will make finding/putting away shoes the easiest.

Shoe shelf makes it easier to keep a pair together. A basket would make it harder to find matches.

This is what I use.  My son is almost 4.  He has has this shelf unit since 18 months. He loves picking his shoes out, putting them away.  Just an idea.  Plus its 16 dollars from ikea

I agree with the other comment, however for ease of use m, I would go basket unless your child has a million pairs of shoes. We have about 4 pairs at a time, so I wouldn’t see an issue with a basked.
