skipping placebo pills

next month i’m going on vacation with my boyfriend but i’m supposed to be on my period. if i skip my placebo pills and go immediately to the next pack will i skip my period that week? also i know i’ll have breakthrough bleeding, so when will that start and how long will it last? please help!!!
